The Sixth Annual Russian Rock Festival


November 3 - 4, 2006

Presented by the Russian Rock Club Of America and hosted in New York City, the Annual Russian Rock Festival is a major 2-day event attended by hundreds of concert goers and held in popular venues such as CBGB, L'Amour and The Hook. Since 2001, the Festival showcases the best Russian rock performers in America today. Each year, bands from New York, Chicago, Boston, Seattle, Cleveland, Detroit, Toronto and other cities perform at the Festival. In past years, the Rock Club has brought in bands from as far away as San Francisco and Montreal, as well as headliners straight from Mother Russia. Every fall, fans from all over the country travel to New York to see these bands. For many of them, the Festival is the highlight of the season.

This year, the Sixth Annual Russian Rock Festival will be held at The Hook (18 Commerce St., Brooklyn) on Friday, November 3 rd and Saturday, November 4 th. It will be headlined by the popular hitmakers Billy's Band (St. Petersburg, Russia) and longtime hometown favorites, the post-modernist Interzona (New York). Other Russian-American stars will include indie/alternative darlings The Orphans (New York), the hard-hitting Doza (Detroit), Maryland rockers Force Majoure (Rockville), the progressive Caravan, formed in Moscow way back in 1975 (New York), the Ukrainian punk legend Zheka Koshmar (Boston), the clown princes of Siberian swing, Yoke (New York), the melodic metallers Seven Ways Out (New York), the hardcore Grunes Herz (New York), the rockabilly favorites Big Beat & The Em-Tones (New York), the cutting edge Schizowave, featuring Ian MacDonald (ex-King Crimson)(Chicago) and others. VJ Mindgasm will be providing the visuals.

Whatever your musical tastes are, you're bound to discover something new, different and exciting. From traditional to ultra-modern, from experimental to classic, the Festival covers all rock styles, each with a unique ethnic flavor. The energy, the atmosphere at these concerts are unforgettable. There is nothing else like it.
